Important info:
A. Artists may submit up to three works for one entry fee.
B. Works must have been executed within the last two years.
C. Works previously shown at Artel may not be resubmitted.
D. All work must be ready for hanging or presentation and easy to exhibit with clear instructions where necessary. Artel does not provide pedestals or wire. Hanging hardware should be sturdy and of good quality. Pedestals should be appropriate for the work, preferably gray, black or white, clean and freshly painted. Wet paintings will not be accepted.
E. Artists should come prepared with title, media, framed dimensions, andprice of each work. Download a check-in sheet below or pick one up at Artel. Please do not make others wait by being unprepared.
F. Keep in mind Artel's mission of providing a venue for experimental or "edgy" art.
By submitting your work to Artel shows, you are giving us permission to consider using your art on our website and in grant applications. If you do not wish your work to be used, you must inform us at drop off.
Guidance: Energy! Power! Strength! Forceful composition, strong palette, dynamic interaction between subject and media are all ways to inject power and strength into works of art. We're looking for experimental works that depict, convey or have energy.
Juror: Amy Bowman is the Director of The Art Gallery (T.A.G.) at the University of West Florida. She is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and in 2009 was awarded her Master of Arts degree from the University of West Virginia with a concentration in the History of Art specializing in contemporary art and criticism. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Pennsylvania State University in 2005.
The entry fee is $25 for Artel members and $35 for non-members.
This program funded, in part, by Escambia County, the City of Pensacola, and by the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts. |
